Sausalito On Ninth
The roots of the restaurant date back more than 30 years, when it was first established as Sweetwater’s Cafe on Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland by well-known restaurateur Gary Lucarelli.
It later moved to a vibrant mall at the downtown Galleria with the name Sweetwater’s Cafe Sausalito. Now, under the new leadership of Indian immigrant Saravanan “Babu” Chandrababu, a re-envisioned restaurant resides in a beautiful, contemporary glass-front location along bustling East 9th Street in downtown Cleveland under the name, Sausalito on Ninth.
With a contemporary feel featuring decor with a nod to Cleveland’s history, Sausalito on Ninth celebrates Cleveland’s strong roots and reflects its vibrant, growing downtown.
Its location is premier: a short walk from the lakefront and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Cleveland Browns First Energy Stadium and nearby Progressive Field. It’s also near numerous downtown hotels.
The restaurant’s new menu features chef-inspired, local Ohio cuisine and is prepared and served by staff who genuinely care about quality and service. Sausalito on Ninth also boasts a curated wine and beer menu and hand-crafted original cocktails created by a nationally known cocktail specialist.
